In April, Microsoft announced the first price increases to Dynamics 365 products in five years. Although the price change has been announced already, it’s not due to take effect until 1st October 2024, giving everyone plenty of time to prepare.
If you have Dynamics 365 licensing or are considering a Dynamics 365 solution for your business, you may be wondering how this impacts you. We explore the announcement in more detail, including how much prices are increasing, why it’s happening and what you should do now.
What are the price increases?
The price increases take effect across Microsoft’s various Dynamics 365 products, with each facing different increases. The rate of the increases range between 9.26 percent and 16.67 percent.
The table below shows you the change in prices across the Dynamics 365 suite. Please note, these prices have not yet been announced in GBP by Microsoft, but we can expect similar increases.
Business Central is not subject to a price increase. Products that sit outside the Dynamics 365 suite are also unaffected by the announcement.
Why are these price increases happening now?
As we’ve already mentioned, these are the first price increases to Dynamics 365 in five years. The world has changed a lot in that time, with businesses facing new challenges.
Over the last five years, Microsoft has already developed their products greatly, bringing new functionality and value to users.
By increasing the price from October, Microsoft can continue to invest in research and development across Dynamics 365. This includes embedding advanced innovation, cutting-edge technology and AI capabilities.
Microsoft will continue to offer twice-yearly updates across Dynamics 365 products, meaning users will benefit from better functionality on a regular basis. As a result, users are armed with the best tools in an increasingly digital world, and able to respond to evolving obstacles and opportunities in the marketplace.
What does it mean for Dynamics 365 customers?
The increases will apply globally to new and existing customers from 1st October 2024. If you already have a Dynamics 365 subscription, you won’t experience the increase until your next renewal date.
If you begin your subscription before October 2024, it means you can get it at the current price and keep it until your next renewal.
Everything else about Dynamics 365 remains the same. You’ll receive the same service, same product, same functionality and same access to twice-yearly updates.
